I am very interested in the unschooling concept. My son had 4 children ages 13-8 and is very disappointed with the school system. We live in Airdrie. His children beg every day to stay home.

How do we go about getting them out of the school to do unschooling? Is there funding available for unschooling. I know there is for homeschooling.

    • Unschooling is just a method of home education, so one would follow the Home Education regulations where they live. In Alberta, you can start today! Just send a notification form to the Ministry of Education and email the Principal that you have made other arrangements for the children’s education and that is it for the rest of the year. Yes, funding reimbursement for supplies is available but the deadline for this year has passed. You can apply for the Fall. Happy unschooling and welcome to the fun!
