Giant List of Online Education Websites and Activities (many are free!)

Unschoolers comprise about 20% of homeschoolers and follow the home education methodology of self-directed education. Learners have free time the whole day and are empowered to follow their interests and satisfy their innate curiosity.  There are so many resources on the Internet, so we put together a list of the most commonly referred websites for families new to home education.

For those who choose not to unschool, and use a curriculum instead, know that many homeschooling families never even finish the year out! Homeschoolers are human; they get a chance to travel, maybe have a baby, receive unexpected visitors, get sick, sidetrack to a renovation project, move for a job, or just plain old procrastinate like the rest of us.  They don’t finish a good third of the year, and just put their student in the next grade in the Fall.  And the kids excel. Because learners never stop learning.  Ever. Perhaps they stop learning the school/government program, but they continue learning what is meaningful to them and everything is useful in the long run.

This summer – relax!  Have fun, conversations, daydream, do a little academics if you feel you need to, keep up the routines, but truly have fun and enjoy each other.  And when you are trying to work from home, let the kids loose on this list and you will discover wonderful things together!

Please Note: This 13 page list was created for your use. UTU does not endorse, nor take any responsibility, or remuneration for the listing or terms of any of these websites.
